Finally!!! Your project has been approved. You only need to recruit newcomers and then you can really get started. Unfortunately, for many organizations this phase takes longer than expected. That is why we regularly organize the Effective Recruitment Strategy workshop. From that workshop we like to share our ten best tips to recruit effectively.
- Have a conversation with people in the target audience. Who are these people? What knowledge and experiences do they have? Where do their needs lie? Based on these conversations, shape the content of your program or adapt an existing project accordingly.
- Think of a post that matches your target audience in terms of form. For example, is this a text, animation or video? The language level of the target audience is often a consideration here.
- Create a post that matches the needs of the target audience in terms of content. Communicate clearly about the value of participation. Do candidates receive a certificate or diploma upon completion? What is the value of this?
- Give the project "a face. You can use ambassadors for this purpose
- Always have your post checked by someone from the target audience or with knowledge of the target audience.
- Start by using your own social media, your network' s social media , LinkedIn, Indeed and targeted websites for your target audience. If you did a good job of probing in Step 1, you'll know what social media your target audience uses. Make use of these!
- Use key people because they have a network and access to the target audience. Also, always consider what they stand to gain from actively recruiting for your organization. Perhaps access to your organization's network? Compensation?
- Distribute flyers in places such as community centers, cultural centers and supermarkets. You don't have to actively flyer yet, before you know what your return is from the previous steps.
- Work for it! Start actively using your network, send targeted messages to people and start active flyering.
- Make sure the application is simple For example only name, city and phone number. Contact candidates quickly and schedule an intake appointment right away . It is often nice to have someone calling who speaks the same language.
We are organizing the Effective Recruitment Strategy workshop as part of The Fundament: Newcomers & Work. This platform supports social initiatives focused on construction, healthcare, entrepreneurship and hospitality, and builds knowledge on what does and does not work for newcomers' passage into the labor market.
