Supporting initiatives that guide newcomers to work
Platform Newcomers and Work makes the path of newcomers to the labor market easier. We do this by supporting initiatives that guide newcomers to work with funding, research, community, knowledge and coaching. We use the knowledge we gain in the process to make the labor market more inclusive.
We translate the knowledge we gain within the platform into lessons to make the labor market more equal, accessible and inclusive. Through knowledge, publications, webinars and meetings, we push for structural change in the labor market for newcomers. This is how we ensure systemic impact.
PNW is a collaborative program of Goldschmeding Foundation and OpenEmbassy. Research partner is Regioplan.
Since 2019, 20 initiatives have been supported. This has reached a total of 1014 newcomers and 159 employers. This resulted in a new job or job retention for 469 newcomers.
Since 2019, Regioplan evaluates the supported initiatives and translates this into lessons and tools for the initiative and platform. Regioplan identifies the factors that make a number of initiatives successful in guiding newcomers to work, the opportunities for growth within the sectors and the points of attention. In the short report (2024) Regioplan links back the most important insights from the research (2021-2023) using practical examples.
