Project description

Commissioned by the Municipality of Almere, we support the municipality to fulfill their ambition to monitor from a broad perspective how Almereans who are obliged to integrate build their lives in Almere.

From citizen to Almeerder

Based on the policy framework "From Integrationist to Almeerder," we worked with municipality officials to determine what data and information is needed to determine whether the municipality's policy is having the desired effect, and where to retrieve what data.

Implementation of learning system

This project is part of OpenEmbassy 's work with municipalities to flesh out the learning system. Using the scientific Indicators of Integration model that we have brought to the Netherlands, we work with municipalities to identify the areas of life for which it is important to collect data. In these processes, social partners in the municipality are involved in order to arrive at a joint product.

Results & insights

The perspective of newcomers is central to this data collection. Some of the data can be collected directly from newcomers themselves through surveys, expert pools, focus groups and interviews.

This allows us to provide the municipality with insights that show where adjustments can be made to the municipality's integration mission.
