Surveys, expert pools and facilitation of a learning approach

Project description

With funding from the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF), the City of Amsterdam offers a supplementary civic integration program through its social partners, Newbees, VluchtelingenWerk and BOOST. OpenEmbassy evaluates the parties' programs and supports them to improve their programs in the interim.

Accessible and language-inclusive surveys

In this project, we conduct surveys among all participants. There is a focus on making the surveys as accessible and language inclusive as possible. Thus, participants receive one question per week, related to one of the activities. We send the questions via messaging services in their own language and in a combination of text and audio.

Expert pools and learning sessions

Based on the surveys, we organize additional expert pools and interviews to interpret survey results. These results are shared with parties and learning sessions are organized from time to time to improve approaches.

Results & insights

With this project, we have the opportunity to gather knowledge on how to conduct good qualitative research on the experiences of newcomers and how to apply it to quantitative survey research.

Figures

  • There are a total of 585 spots through 2026 for the three supplementary integration programs.
  • The goal is that at least 315 participants indicated that the activities in the program were perceived as useful.
  • May 2024 update: 60 participants completed the survey.
