Action research Hollands Kroon

How do we ensure that people who come to the Netherlands as EU labor migrants can fully become part of the local society? And what are their own needs in this?

Action research migrant workers

We are investigating this on behalf of the municipality of Hollands Kroon. In October we started the action research, in which we support 10 individuals. They have come to NL as migrant workers. Together with them and local parties, we are looking for answers to their questions about finding their way in the Netherlands.

Meeting on location

Last week we spent two days in the community. We walked along in a tomato greenhouse, spent the night in housing for migrant workers, played soccer with people after work, walked along in the office of a staffing organization and talked to workers during coffee breaks. The people we met gave us a glimpse into how they find their way in the Netherlands.

By better understanding the diverse perspectives and experiences of people themselves, together we will learn more about: How can municipalities/organizations/parties support people who come to the Netherlands as EU labor migrants?

Would you like to learn more about this? Or would you like more insight into the needs and perspectives of people who have come to your municipality as EU migrant workers? Then contact jolien@openembassy.nl
