Perspective of people from Ukraine in Enschede

Project

Perspective of people from Ukraine in Enschede

Client

Municipality of Enschede

Duration

January - June 2025

Product

Survey, expert pool, reporting, co-creation session

Project description

The municipality of Enschede has built up an infrastructure to maintain good contact with residents. It considers it essential to understand how people themselves feel about issues. The community of Ukrainian displaced persons has questions about continuing to build a life in the Netherlands.

Through a survey and expert panel, we are investigating on behalf of the municipality what is needed, what the requirements are, and how this can be implemented in practice. This gives the municipality more control and understanding of what is needed.  It is clear that the municipality cannot influence everything, such as the uncertainty surrounding people's residence status. In order to make the right choices about where the municipality can and wants to play a role, a good understanding of where the needs lie is required. The input from the survey and expert pool will be used for a co-creation session to develop further ideas. The results of the research into people's own experiences will also form input for the policy framework.
