Newcomers' vision for Almere
Municipality of Almere
Vision document
The municipality of Almere is working on an integrated refugee policy for various groups of newcomers, including asylum seekers, status holders, Ukrainian displaced persons, and people without residence status. These groups are subject to different policy frameworks, implementation practices, and programs. This project will compare and contrast these and examine them in relation to each other, with the aim of developing a shared, municipality-wide vision.
The project will be carried out in several stages. First, existing policy and implementation information will be analyzed and supplemented with relevant best practices and perspectives from residents of Almere. Next, the current implementation will be mapped out and how newcomers experience it. Based on this, gaps and points of attention will be identified, including through a design session with stakeholders. This process will result in a vision document that will guide future policy and implementation. Throughout the entire process, OpenEmbassy will work OpenEmbassy with the municipality as a single joint project team.
As soon as the first results are known, they will be published.
